Why We Like It

The Platinum Card® from American Express might be the perks champion. While it might not help you earn points as fast as the American Express Gold Card, its real value is in benefits such as lounge access and a variety of statement credits.

Of course, whatever points you do earn will be in the form of Membership Rewards which can be transferred to airline partners such as Air Canada Aeroplan, Avianca LifeMiles, Air France-KLM Flying Blue, and British Airways Executive Club.

American Express® Gold Card
One of the best cards for earning Amex points thanks to 4x on groceries (up to $25k per year) and 4x at restaurants. The best offer is currently via personal referral.

The big brother of the Sapphire Preferred, it's a good option if you want lounge access and the ability to redeem points at 1.5 cents per point.
